When I bought this product, I was very happy. But while I was playing the game(I was using the run through anything cheat for pokemon diamond) the game suddenly went blank. When I reset it, the game worked, but I could no longer ride my bike, fly on my pokemon, catch pokemon, etc. I could only run, trade and battle. Even my friends had their games ruined and wasted about $[...]. I wish I could go back in time and buy a new game instead. If you ask me about the product, I would say either buy a video game or burn your money because the action replay is a waste of money. After reading other reviews from other places, I would suggest to not plug it in your computer either because I heard one guy got their computer busted, which means they lost about $[...]. To make it short and to the point, it is a waste of money. I would give this product a negative 1 billion if i could. Luckily, after ruining my pokemon game, I did'nt put in any other games in the action replay. My rating is a big, fat ZERO!!!!!

My son whined for weeks to get an Action Replay for his Game Boy Advance. I checked the Amazon reviews, and was amazed how poorly the product was rated. Regardless, the "tooth fairy" provided my son his cherished Action Replay, and it has been a veritable nigthmare ever since.

First, the instructions, while impressive in several foreign languages, are utterly useless. The device includes a button and a slide-switch, for which there is no mention in said instructions of their purpose. Furthermore, the device is not "Plug and Play" which, in short, means it is hit or miss with compatibility to your computer system.

The first time I inserted the software, provided on a mini CD, I had to immediately visit the Datel website in order to get an upgraded version (the product they ship is already outdated). While upgrading, my system crashed, and I nearly lost my entire IBM ThinkPad T22 Lap Top, as it would not reboot until I removed and replaced the battery. Upon further review, I realized that the product was developed by the British, which left me pondering, "What was the last succesful software product invented in the UK?" - I couldn't think of any....

Anyway, after rebooting, I could not get the device to synchronize with the lap top which meant my son was not going to obtain any new codes. And after four hours of screwing around with this British-made piece of crap, we put it back in the box so we could return it, then went outside and had some real fun playing wiffle ball.

ok, i got this product recently, so let's get the obvious out of the way; you can't add codes whatsover...that's it...other than that, its perfect...you don't need to add any codes because all the games you would love to play are on there...they have all of the resident evils, all of the prince of persias, all of the legend of zeldas including twilight princess, eternal darkness: sanity's requiem, both metroids, the megaman collection, wario world, luigi's mansion, and all of the marios including double dash, sunshine, and strikers, and even both of the super smash bros. brawl...what more codes do you need to add!!?!?!?!?? the people who complained about not adding codes is probably a game you never heard of or never attempted to spend your hard-earned money on a piece of crap...

I'm 13 years old and tellin you that the Action Replay works better than the Gameshark. The Action Replay works better than the screw-game-up gameshark. It works i read that if you catch Deoxys with the A.R. it wont obey to you but i trained mine to level 100 and Deoxys obeys me. When I first got it, I was like WTF, how do I set this crap up? But then I just looked it up on youtube. "How to set up action replay" And it works great after you get it set up. I've made so many legit looking hacked EV trained (not over the 510 limit) pokemon. They work fine on battle revolution on wifi, they're not hacked over anything that you couldn't normally do, I just didn't have to do the work. :P

Here's the deal. In the box you get a CD and a Dongle. Some dongles are also 8mb memory cards. As was mine.

You pop the dongle into a memory card slot - it only seemed to "see" it when it was in slot #01- and then pop the CD in and boot your PS2.

After about a 30-35 second load -which feels like forever- you're treated a pretty slick GUI and upbeat music. The interface is easy enough to use, it auto downloaded codes, I even browsed some save games and everything. Neat.

Then I went into the memory manager and as one memory card, an Official Sony brand one was getting full I moved some saves from off it onto the dongle.

Then played some games, tested out some codes and had a lot of fun. Fast forward 8 hours from the time of purchase and booting it up I'm greeted with:

"Please insert your Action Replay MAX Hardware now."

Wonderful. It now refuses to see the dongle and my saves are trapped on it.

Bottom line. Do not buy this. Try a Gameshark instead.

I honestly do not like cheat devices, but since Wild Arms 4 came out, it actually now has a use. Let me explain...

Unfortunately, thanks to an programming on the part of Xseed Puplishing (the company that translated Wild Arms 4) it is impossible to unlock two of the bonus contents in the game without the aid of this device, or a similar device like a Gameshark. Since this is the cheapest of all said devices, if you are hellbent on unlocking everything in that game, you'll want to shell out the twenty dollars for this.

If it wasn't for this reason, I wouldn't even be interested in this product.

This is great I love it. The only problem is every month or so it freezes or doesn't respond. However, as long as you save your game every 20 minutes, its definitly worth beating that almost impossible boss or getting perfect scores and unlocking every character. I got mine almost a year ago and it's only froze about 3-5 times. even if you don't like to cheat you can always create a file where you don't cheat (if the game lets you). I highly suggest buying this but if you want to add/ subtract games make sure you have a fast computer at the ready. P.S. If you cant find one of the pieces, its most likely in the back of the case hiding.

In the package I got the SD chip (of course), the disc, the back of the original package with info, the paper that lists all the codes for certain games, and a receipt with a short note from the seller. Everything was in perfect condition. There were no scratches on the disc at all, and the SD chip came in a handy-dandy little case. I've already used the Wii powersaves for my Animal Crossing, Super Smash Bros, and Mario Party games, and everything works fabulously. Anyone who says it's a scam is really ignorant, because it comes with so many saves on it, taking out the work entirely on the users side. Take our advice ans don't buy this game. My son purchased this and it never worked properly. He was unable to get it to download any new games. He was able to use it once but after that it caused his screen to go blank!
We are going to send it back to the manufacturer. Hopefully they will replace it. If they do we will post again.

Currently I don't have the AR.
I have my Ruby and LeafGreen versions of Pokemon, I work more in my Ruby Version because only 3 Pokemon gives me a headache, Deoxys, Feebas and Milotic. I tried to see the ugly "Feebas" again.
I did see many tricks to get it, Dewford City Trendy Phrase... blah, blah, blah, however I didn't get it... though. :(
Now I see what offer me the AR... some pros and only few cons...
It's great, but first think if you REALLY need it or not before get it.
